Indian Casino Near Lake Havasu
It's finally here! The Chemehuevi Tribe is debuting a completely new casino in California on Friday. The long-awaited Havasu Landing Resort and Casino is located on the shores of Lake Havasu. The 72,500 square-foot facility consists of a spacious gaming floor, a 48-room hotel with a fitness room and outdoor pool, a sports bar, a gift shop, a restaurant, a ferry dock, and marina slips with a store. 'It has been a long project in the making, but it has been well worth the wait, as a new era begins,' the casino said in a news release. The tribe has spent years working on the project. A groundbreaking took place in November 2017, with plans to complete construction by the spring of 2019. But that date came and went. A tribal leader told The Havasu News Herald earlier this year that finishing the parking lot proved to be difficult due to 'work force challenges.'
